3 Sep- Chrome and Animalism

Today after all Google Chrome (Beta) was released. In the first chance I downloaded it and tried to see what are the differences and features in Google browser. I showed it to my friends in the office but everyone just looked very reluctant to even see it. Asking the reason, everyone concerns about the privacy issues with Google. I remember the first concerns arose when Gmail was released. Their idea about advertising in Gmail dealt with going through the emails and ads related to email contents are showed in your page. They justified the problem with machine reading of emails and no human being deal with emails. However the machine can be adopted to be sensitive to some specific words. With Google Desktop for example, it can search among your entire files in the computer and send a full report to the Google Company, and it may be handed to some other organization or government for more investigation. There is no official proof for that, however. God knows what’s going on there. And the second reason they gave me was about the monopoly of the Google; Google Search engine, Google Desktop, BlogSpot, YouTube, even Firefox, and now another attempt to be fully integrated in the internet era. So the try to push you to use their own application, in Chrome for example it has a very good features to have Google application such as YouTube and Picasa.

I am asking what the other alternatives are; definitely not Microsoft. Microsoft is another monopoly as well. At least Google somehow supports GNU and free software. I asked my friends whether there is a better option!

Certainly I am not a big fan of Google since they banned some of their application such as Google Ads or Google talk in my country; or the case of Google censorship in China. If the Google is a private company it shouldn’t care about political relationship between US and other countries. But it seems that they need the governmental support. And in return they may follow the government’s policies.

Seems everyone is even more paranoid than me. This paranoid view creates a very competitive atmosphere; as it can be seen between Google and Microsoft now. So because of all news reveals in media from some years ago about monopoly of Microsoft, now everyone seems move to Google; which is a big support for them. Now there is a race between Google and Microsoft; As there was the same case between IBM and Microsoft years ago when finally Microsoft left the IBM in behind. In few years another company would be arose and success Google.

So the monopoly does create the competition in paradox with its characterization.

And now about the privacy; look around. Name some of the discoveries around you that make the life easier; Computers, internet, mobiles, satellites, electricity, energies, genetics. I don’t think many of these were actually made for sake of us as the ordinary people in the first step. However they were made against us. Nuclear Energy, where it came from? It was discovered form nuclear weapon to kill a nation. Internet, as far as I know it was developed for military applications, so as mobiles and satellites. Specifically, most of the advances in electronic field owe the military under the control of governments. Simply they exploit and abuse the technology for their own purpose and later on after they finished with that technologies or come up with a better one, they find other applications in daily life to leave them with us. Upgrading your computer, your mobile, buying Hi-tech TV, do we really need them? Certainly not, in this way we only support these companies to come up with new technologies for either military or other nothing-to-do-with-us technologies; so as the technologies to control your life and privacies.

All that I am saying is science is kind of religion having almost everyone support.
